Last Week's New Blossoms
In spring and early summer, all I need to do is wait a week to find a new flower in bloom in our yard.
I had to wait for a few clouds so the lighting is right for a good picture of these yellow hedge roses.
Honeysuckle can also be challenging to photograph at times, but they are worth the extra effort. They are one of the favorites for humming birds that occasionally visit our property in spring and summer.
Another variety of iris in bloom. Our iris’s are at their blooming period, with some of the early ones already fading away.
Our thimbleberry bushes are blooming well. The berries that develop later are edible, but small and bland. They are native to our area and can be found in the forests where there is shade and adequate water.
These small but hardy Siberian/Japanese (not sure which one) iris’s do well in the shady areas. We have a couple of varieties. With the small flower size, it is hard to get my automatic camera to focus properly on them. I will keep trying.
Out tea roses are starting to open up, but the blooms have yet to fully develop. By next week I should have the opportunity to get some good pictures of a few varieties we have. More varieties will be blooming later.

Spring is my favorite time of year. When the magnolia bloom, I am in heaven.
Wonderful photos. Your garden is lovely.
