End-of-Spring Flowers
As spring officially ends, we have a few new flowers in bloom.
New flowers continue to make a showing - as can be expected in June. We don’t have many pink poppies, but the few we do have near the ripening raspberries stand out.
I do not remember what these orange flowers are. Maybe one of the Substackers here can reveal their name to the rest of us. That’s a blackberry variety in the background.
This is our first day-lily bloom for this year. Plenty more are coming. We have a few varieties of these, including double-bloom one of the same color and another with burgundy blooms. Those will come later.
Our dahlia that was planted in a pot came out before the others planted in the ground. I expect the rest to start blooming within a couple of weeks.
I find this variety of black-eyed-susans more spectacular than the plain ones. Apparently the young grasshopper agrees with me.
The geraniums in the front yard have been getting showier, but they are still not at their peak.
The sweet alyssum looks well with the California poppies. I always enjoy seeing flower mixes in the garden.
Next week we will see what the end of June brings to our garden.

You have some beautiful flowers.
I only have some houseplants - Crown of Thorns, Schlumbergera, Pothos - but I love them. 🌺🌵🌿
